Have you suffered from a stroke?

Or perhaps you are a carer or family member of someone who has suffered from a stroke?

 Support Groups

We can offer facilitated support groups, for those who have experienced a stroke and for their carers or family members. Both groups will run on Mondays at 1:30pm for 2 hours, with 2 counsellors as facilitators and up to 12 group members. These are provided at our centre in Altrincham which has full disabled access.

The group sessions are very loosely structured and provide a safe environment in which to grieve for what has been lost, share stories, vent frustrations safely, and re-build self esteem. They also offer a space to share coping stategies and reflect on how to keep a sense of self-identity while adapting to new circumstances. Our support groups are free but donations are welcome.

Counselling

For those who would prefer to see a counsellor you can come as an individual or with a partner for couples counselling. We can offer support those struggling with the depression that affects so many people after suffering a stroke. We have fully qualified male and female counsellors.

To find out how much sessions cost and to make an appointment call us on 0161 941 7754 or call in. Out of office hours there is a confidential answer service. Leave a message - we will always get back to you., email appointments@counsellingandfamilycentre.co.uk
